The result: some of the best features of both systems combined into one value hybrid cardiovascular ultrasound system – rugged, reliable, robust, and rich with features, yet still affordable and easy to use.

Tissue Velocity Imaging 

Captures dynamic information from moving heart tissue for quantifiable measurement of left ventricular function.


Automatically adjusts settings to help streamline workflow, increase reproducibility, and enhance diagnostic confidence.

Automated Function Imaging

Assesses and quantifies left ventricular wall motion at rest, and calculates parameters to describe the function of the left ventricular walls. Nearly 400 papers have been published on AFI, which has received GE Healthcare’s healthymagination validation for its proven reliability and reproducibility.

Transesophageal Echocardiography

Guide interventional procedures with confidence. Vivid T8 TEE transducer 6Tc-RS is compatible with Vivid S6, Vivid S5, Vivid i/q and with Vivid E9 via an adapter.

The Vivid* T8 is designed to be easy to operate and transport in many environments. Its intuitive user interface is a true Vivid console, with Vivid applications, features, workflow, and reliability, simplified for ease of use.


Convenient control layout

The touch screen, rotary dials, and patient management buttons are conveniently located, and all mode buttons are grouped together near the trackball.

Ready-to-go mobility

Weighing just 128 pounds, with durable casters and push handles front and back, the Vivid T8 is easy to push and roll on tiled or carpeted floors.

Take rugged reliability to challenging conditions.

In developing the Vivid* T8, reliability was our number one priority. We designed and rigorously tested the system for reliability even in very harsh, demanding environments. It delivers a hardy robustness that stands up to the challenges of even the busiest ultrasound imaging practices. We performed a set of challenging tests on the system—and the Vivid T8 stood strong through every test.


Rugged construction for durable performance

The Vivid T8 was subjected to 20 hours of extreme vibration, and shock tested with 1,000 strikes at a force of 10 G’s.

Broad thermal range

Rigorous thermal testing subjected the Vivid T8 to both intense heat and cold for a week each, and then to four weeks of cycling back and forth between two temperature extremes.



Excellent dust protection

During an eight-hour dust protection test, the Vivid T8 performed smoothly even with both fans clogged with extreme amounts of dust.

Low use error

Even after numerous normal power-on/off cycles, repeated forced power-off cycles, and dozens of transducer removals and insertions, the Vivid T8’s use error was low.
